Gloria June Dowell's Obituary
Gloria June Dowell was called home on January 30th, 2026. She is the cherished daughter of Dorothy Dowell and the late R.B. Josh Dowell, and the spirited sibling of
her brothers Billy, Donald (HB), Donald G, Dean Dowell, and her sister Dianna Jones. She also leaves behind her niece Breanna Emma, her nephews Rodney, Brian and Richard Robinson, her 2 niece in-laws and 1nephew in-law, and 4 great-nieces and great nephews. Gloria said goodbye to her many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her very close circle of special friends.
Gloria, known by her family and close friends as June, was born in Monterey, California on May 17th, 1963. Due to her father’s military career, she traveled and lived in numerous places, including Tennessee, Missouri, Germany, and Washington State. She graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1981. June was classy, outspoken, and protective of friends and family. She spoke her mind with a clear, honest voice, never letting important things go unsaid. June was always extremely cordial and friendly to people she would meet, including in the line at the grocery store, while waiting to be seated at a restaurant, and any place where she encountered people. She enjoyed music, and had an eclectic taste that included everything from Prince to Tupac Shakur to Tom Jones to Sade to Tony Bennett. June enjoyed watching gangster movies and she loved the original Star Trek series with Captain Kirk. June really loved her dog Grace and took very good care of her pet until the day her pet passed away.
June will be truly missed, and we hold her close in every memory. She is now home with her loving father, the family members that preceded her, and her beloved dog Grace.
