Gloria Ramos Almoguera's Obituary
GLORIA RAMOS ALMOGUERA, AGE 60
Gloria Ramos Almoguera, age 60, entered into eternal rest Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA from heart failure while courageously fighting a long battle with renal failure.
She was born on January 15, 1957 in Makati City, Philippines she was the daughter of Romualdo and Damiana Ramos. She attended Guadalupe Elementary School where she earned the Catholic Religious Award. She later attended Makati High School . At the age of 16, Gloria moved to Oahu, Hawaii where she continue her high school education and graduated from Farrington High School in Honolulu. From an early age, she had already devoted her life to God and always pushed herself in her studies and took pride in her academia excellence graduating with Honors.
From a young age, Gloria understood that her Spiritual growth was to be given highest priority and she instilled this in her daughters.
At 22, she married Sgt. Danny Almoguera who was Active in the United States Army. and in her role as a Military Wife she traveled to many countries and loved learning different traditions from different cultures. She was very accepting of others from all walks of life. Gloria always looked for the good in everything and everyone and was loved by so many.
In 1990, the family moved to Washington State where she volunteered many years at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Lakewood, WA and Holy Rosary Church in Tacoma, WA. she was an active member of the Pastoral Counsel until her declining health made it difficult to continue. Gloria also held multiple roles at the local hospitals staying involved by dedicating herself in being a great role model. Her love and compassion for people compelled her to work in helping and caring for others in their time of need. She truly gave all she had to others whenever asked.
Gloria never saw social barriers. She saw people’s needs and acted on them, no matter what their background or circumstances She was always there to lend a listening ear, with open arms, and a smile upon her face.
Gloria Ramos Almoguera is survived by 3 brothers, Juanito Ramos, Romeo Ramos, and Ernesto Ramos of Oahu Hawaii; 4 sisters, Rosita Castillo , Natividad, Soloria both of Maui, Julita Martin of Las Vegas, NV and Erlinda Ramos of Oahu, Hawaii. Her two daughters, LeeAnn Almoguera and Donya Richardson; and 4 loving grandsons, Kheshaun Richardson, Christian Martinez-Almoguera, Gabriel Martinez-Almoguera, and Khedrick Richardson.
A memorial service organized by Holy Rosary Church for Gloria Ramos Almoguera, a resident of Tacoma, will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Holy Rosary Church, 520 South 30th St., Tacoma, WA 98402.
