Perrin attended the Idaho Falls 3rd ward primary, even though he lived outside of the boundaries of the ward.
He and I spent many hours hunting frogs in the creek that flowed where the high school was built.
We shared a locker 1st year in junior high and partnered picking potatoes during spud harvest.
I lost track of him after high school, so you can imagine my surprise to see him again 60+ years later when he was a Sealer in the Seattle Temple.
I hope to see him again in just a few years, as we were the same age within days of each other.

My husband, Elder Rick Silva, was one of President Walker's missionaries. I have spent 31 years of marriage hearing the lessons that Rick learned from this beloved man. I only met him once, but I will never forget the 20 year reunion, when President Walker stood to speak. I watched men who were facing a variety of trials and nearing middle age, suddenly set their jaws and stand a little taller as they looked for the guidance they knew they could expect from this great man. His affect was palpable. I am so grateful for his influence, that has been carried through Rick, on our family of boys.
I thank Heavenly Father for allowing me to go to President Walker's mission. He had an enormous impact on my life. He was like Nephi, Moroni, Ammon - that's his peer group. He probably wouldn't have remembered Elder Garner, but generations of Garners will be blessed from what I saw and learned from one of the greatest men I've ever known. Thank you President for your service to me. Your granddaughter described you today as a "big warm hug." I always describe you as "a walking sword." The strength, honor, and character that emanated from you was powerful and contagious. I will always love and honor you, and will work to be worthy to associate with you in the eternities.
I was fortunate to have President Walker as my "companion" for a few days while serving in La Mission Belge de Bruxelles. I treasure the conversations as we traveled throughout the mission. Deeply rooted in my memory were the nights where we would kneel in prayer and I witnessed how a person should communicate with God through prayer. I'm deeply grateful for being challenged by this man to truly do hard things...it changed my life. My condolences to the entire family. - Kory Brown
Perrin was a mentor to many lawyers. He was always positive and saw the best in all of us. Lawyers and Judicial Officers had high praise for his legal skills and professionalism. Perrin always made time to counsel colleagues. The legal profession will miss Perrin.
Perrin was a consummate gentleman and a fine lawyer. Godspeed, Perrin!
Wonderful to read so many details of Perrin's full life. We worked together at Vandeberg Johnson Gandara for 10 years in the 90's and I always enjoyed his intelligence, humor and humanity. My condolences to the entire family on your loss.
Perrin was a devoted man of God. His leaning and erring on the side of Mercy in how he lived every moment of his life. He was an acclaimed attorney certainly, but above that was his love for Charlotte and his family. He always saw goodness in everybody and conveyed Christlike love to all. I will miss him as long as I live. He truly loved the 2nd great commandment of loving “all” others. May his family continue on his legacy. God bless Charlotte, a true queen of goodness.
