Glen Joseph Heinz
Glen Joseph Heinz (Papa), age 80, of Tacoma, WA, died November 14, 2011 in his home surrounded by his family who loved him very much. Glen was born May 26, 1931 in Belfield, ND to Louis and Katherine Heinz. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers Lodge #297. Glen enjoyed family, fishing, football, pheasant hunting, hiking, and most recently spending his winters in Yuma, AZ, where he met his dearest friend Judy. She got him started Rv'ing, which he enjoyed very much, and she allowed him to win in darts and cards. He is survived by three daughters, Dodie Henderson (Dave), Lisa Combs (Danny), and Cyndi Chang, eight grandchildren, David, Nikkii, Sam, Josh, Kylea, Ryan, Rickey, and Austin, two great-grandchildren, Haley and Daniel, and six siblings, Dixie King, Curt Heinz, Al Heinz, Gloria Greene, Lowell Heinz, and DeeDee Larson. He was preceded in death by son Rick Haavik, sister Carol Roberts, and brother Corky Heinz. Memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 Monday, 21 November 2011, at Mountain View's Celebration of Life Center in Lakewood. Reception to follow.
