Gladys Joanne Thompson's Obituary
Gladys Joanne Folden Thompson was born in Tacoma, WA on September 23rd, 1935 to parents Peter & Anna Folden. She passed away on November 15th, 2022 in Tacoma WA.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
A graduate of Stadium High School in 1953, she was employed by the Tacoma School District for almost 30 years as Secretary at elementary schools Bryant & Geiger.
Joanne was an avid reader and liked to work in her yard and garden. She loved dogs, especially her grand-dogs. The European and Hawaiian trips were highlights of her retirement.
Her life was centered around her husband of 55 1/2 years, Raymond C Thompson and her three sons, Marc (Deanna) of St. Petersburg, FL, Gary of Lakewood, WA and Jeffrey (Molly) of Gig Harbor, WA. Her Brother, Art (Carolyn) of Olympia also survives. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves behind a large extended family. She was predeceased by her parents, and older siblings, George and Betty Jean.
"Don't grieve for me, I am at eternal peace."
Per her wishes there will be no funeral or memorial service.
