Gladys Edna Larson's Obituary
Gladys Edna Dobrick Larson was called home to heaven April 27th 2019 at the age of 95. She was the eighth of ten children born to Bernard and Laura (Johns) Dobrick on their homestead farm in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She moved to Sacramento in 1940 and then to Tacoma in 1941 where she resided for the rest of her life. She worked for F.S. Harmon Furniture during WWII and retired from West Coast Grocery in 1978. Gladys was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Betty Ann Circle and the Local 599 Teamsters Union. An animal lover her whole life, she had many cats and dogs over the years and often took in strays. Gladys was a loving grandmother who was actively involved in the lives of her two grandchildren who affectionately called her “Grandma Glady”. She is preceded in death by her son Gregory (1948-94), granddaughter Jenny (1979), mother and father, two brothers and six sisters. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Jeffrey (Patricia) Larson and Sarah (Scott) Larson, four great grandchildren, Gregory, Sayda, Gracie, and Elias – all the loves of her life – and her sister Clara Hough of Prescott, AZ, along with many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service in memory of Gladys will be held Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Mt. View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in memory of Gladys to the Pierce County Humane Societ
