Gisela Yernesek's Obituary
Gisela Yernesek, 97, long time resident of Lakewood, passed away on January 17 at her home. Born in Wetzlar, Germany in 1921, she later met George Yernesek, a US Army Sargent. She moved to the US following his proposal, and they were married in 1957. Gisela enjoyed traveling, gardening, swimming, and table tennis. She was proud of her work for the International Red Cross. She also loved being a homemaker and wife. Gisela is known by her friends and neighbors as a very generous and loving person who helps others in need. She was preceded in death by husband George, father, Paul Gütschow; mother, Käthe (Rusch), brother, Hans, and sister, Ilse (Härtel). Gisela is survived by her cousin Louisa (Rush) Huyge and family; her brother-in-law, Dennis (Vicky) Yernesek, and many friends. She will be dearly missed by all. Graveside services will take place on 24 Jan at 9:30am in Mt View Memorial Park, Lakewood.
