Gilbert Aldrich's Obituary
Gil was born to George and Marie Aldrich in Spanaway, WA, and lived in the Pierce County area most of his life. He was a Veteran of WWII, fighting in the Â"Battle of the BulgeÂ" with the US Army Infantry.From 1936-1977 he worked on many homes and buildings in the area. In April this year he received his Â"70 YearÂ" pin from the Carpenters Union #470. Quite a milestone! He was also a member of the VFW (Wild West Post #91) since 1945, and Eagles (FOE Aerie #3) since 1947.For years he belonged to Â"The Western Travelers Flying ClubÂ" at Thun Field and loved to fly. He loved being outside. His vegetable gardens fed family and friends, and he took pride in his huge beautiful yards. At 89, he still mowed his lawn when needed.Preceded in death by his parents, sister Bernice, brother George and daughter Joan. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Beulah, daughters: Janice (Frank) Fleming of Puyallup, Julie (Rick) White of Puyallup and June (Norm) Sena of Buckley, son John (Becky) Aldrich of Eatonville, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 1-9 pm on Friday, June 16, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Services will be held at 12pm on Saturday, June 17, 2006 in the Mountain View Valley Chapel.
