Gertrude E. David's Obituary
Gertrude Emilia David, 86 of Lakewood passed peacefully on August 12, 2022 at Tacoma General Hospital. "Gerty" as she was affectionally known by friends and family, was born January 3, 1936 in Lac La Biche, Alberta, Canada to Mauritz Hoflin and Irene (Olsen).
She retired from Safeway as a Meat Wrapper in 1995. She was an active member of the Lakes Moose Lodge and South Tacoma Eagles. She will be remembered by many for her love of cooking, green house tomatoes and cucumbers, playing cards and her dedication to her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two children; Debra Bastien (Jim) and Terry David, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and two of her brothers; Ernest Hoflin (Jackie) and Walter Hoflin (Bernice). She was preceded in death by her husband Dennis David and partner Joseph Tevis, her son Colin David and daughter Mavis Contreras.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her behalf to the American Lung Association.
