Gertrud Kreszenz Robinson's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gertrud (Trudy) Kresenz Robinson on December 6, 2024, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Born on April 27, 1935, in Mering, Bavaria, Germany, to Josef Kurz and Maria Sedlemaier, Trudy was the youngest of six children and cherished her close relationship with her cousin, Josef (Sepp), who was raised as her sibling.
Trudy’s journey brought her from the picturesque landscapes of Bavaria to the United States when she married Aaron L. Robinson in Augsburg, Germany in 1959. The couple celebrated 64 years of loving marriage, marked by mutual respect, deep affection, and shared adventures, until Aaron’s passing.
Professionally, Trudy was as diligent as she was wise. After earning her accounting degree, she dedicated 23 years to the finance department at the Annie Wright School, serving as comptroller and head of finance for 16 years. Her expertise and steadfast ethical standards led her to serve on several boards as treasurer, including the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools (PNWAIS) and The German Language School.
Trudy’s legacy continues through her family, who reflect her integrity, strength, and generosity. She is survived by her son, daughter, three granddaughters, and a great grand son.
Trudy’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering kindness profoundly impacted those around her, making her a cherished member of every community she touched. She will be remembered not just for her professional achievements but for her generous spirit, her enduring love for her family, and her capacity to inspire others.
We invite all who knew Trudy to join us in celebrating her remarkable life. Details of the memorial service will be provided at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Annie Wright School in Tacoma, Washington, in recognition of her significant contributions and lasting impact.
Trudy’s passing is a profound loss, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
