Dear Family of Mrs. Ferguson,
We are saddened by the loss of your mother and grandmother. Mrs. Ferguson was my kindergarten teacher at Geiger Elementary in 1957-58. Although that was long ago, I can still remember many lessons she taught us in her kind, soft-spoken way. It was a thrill for me to get to know her better as I reached adulthood. Our family would worship with her at First Congregational Church. She would always have a pleasant word for me and would pretend to remember those kindergarten days. I remember,too, the pain she felt after losing her son and talked to her many times about it and about the scholarship she established in his name. I'm am truely sorry to hear of the passing of my favorite and very first teacher. She was my kindergarten teacher at Fern Hill Elementary in the 60's. Funny how we can still remember a person in our past when they make such an impact on us as she did.
