Mr. Gerald "Jerry" L. Shade's Obituary
Jerry was born in Tacoma, Washington at home, March 13, 1936. Mother Marie K. Gelderman Hess and Lester Hess. Jerry was adopted by Chester Shade when Marie and Chester were married. Jerry graduated from Stadium High School. Jerry spent 2 years in active duty then the Army Reserves. He worked for the Tribune Publishing Company for 28 1/2 years (9-19-55 to 3-30-1984). Although he may have planned to travel. Jerry and wife Darlene owned and operated a Motel-RV park-Gift shop for 8 1/2 years. Then purchased property at Hood Canal and Wye Lake Port Orchard enjoying the peace and quiet of the outdoors. Jerry is survived by wife of 48 years . Son Michael Shade & sister Cherie. Preceded in Death, parents, daughter Brenda and brother Donald.
Jerry has 4 grandchildren and also Great Grandchildren. He is most proud of his 28 1/2 years of working for The Tacoma News Tribune and his Boxer Girl "Sadie".
