Gerald R. Dinsmore
Gerald R. Dinsmore passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from a sudden heart failure. He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 13, 1938. He spent the majority of his youth growing up in Sacramento, CA and joined the U.S. Navy after high school. After completing his military duty he moved to Tacoma, WA, where he raised his family and became a well-respected fixture in the automotive industry. He retired in 1997 after 32 years serving as the Service Manager for Milam Oldsmobile-Jeep-Mazda in Puyallup, WA. Jerry, as he was known to his family and friends, is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Deborah Dinsmore, sons Keith Dinsmore and Kenneth Dinsmore, daughter Karen Dinsmore Morgan, step-daughter Jodie DeTray, step-son Tony Betshart, brother Robert Dinsmore, and sisters Shirley Davis and Ginger Filizof, along with seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry enjoyed a full and adventurous life with a passion for fast cars and boats, motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles, Studebakers, his mountain cabin, beach cabin, motor homes, and in his later years, attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He is loved by many and will be truly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. There will be a public viewing at Mountain View Funeral Home on Friday, April 6th from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m. for all who would live to see him. There will also be a memorial service held on Saturday, April 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church located at 4519 112th Street East, Tacoma, WA, followed by a graveside service and reception at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd S.W. Lakewood, WA 98499.
