Georgianna Amos' Obituary
Georgianna Lorene (Johnson) Amos, 84, passed July 30, 2013 at Highline Medical Center in Tukwila WA. Lorene was born May 5, 1929, in Tacoma, WA. She was the first child of Lesley Andrew Johnson Sr. and Lucile Edna Beals Johnson. Lorene was raised in and around the Tacoma area.
In August of 1956, she married Floyd Ernest Amos, in Moses Lake, WA. They were together for 47 years until his death in September of 2003. She raised 3 children, was proud of her 6 grandchildren and 5 great-granddaughters. She loved telling stories of her time spent with her nieces and nephews.
She loved the waters of Puget Sound. Spending many hours upon her beaches searching for that perfect shell. Lorene and her husband were longtime residents of Port Orchard, WA. She enjoyed camping with family and friends and going on trips with sister-in-law Lola Amos. She could not pass up a good garage sale and loved
sewing dolls and stuffed animals for family and friends. She proudly showed her doll collection to all who came calling. She loved dogs and cats, owning many in her lifetime. She had special fondness for horses few people knew about. Her love for old movies and musicals has been passed down to her great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd E. Amos of Port Orchard and Brother Phillip B. Johnson of Portland, OR.
Survived by: Son Steven L. Klinger Sr, of Puyallup, WA, daughter Rebecca M.(Robert) Miller of Yakima, WA., and son Charles A. Amos (Sheila) of Bothell, WA. Grandsons Steven L. Klinger Jr. (Sheila) of Puyallup, WA and Gavin A. Amos of Bothell, WA. Granddaughters Marina E. Jewell of Seattle, WA, Terra L. Jewell ( Ken) of Longview, WA, Hillary E. Klauber (Scott) of Bothell, WA and Elise L. Amos of Bothell, WA. Brother Les (Tim) A. Johnson Jr. of Port Orchard, WA and Sister Joan E. Morris of Okanogan, WA.
Lorene loved her family and had a smile that lite up the room.
Her memorial will be held at 2:00 PM on August 24, 2013 at Dryers Masonic Center, 306 134th Street S., Tacoma, WA.
