George M. Yelovich's Obituary
George was born on September 16th, 1934 in Simpson, PA and passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Puyallup, Wa on July 5th, 2015.
George attended schools in Tacoma and graduated from Stadium High School in 1952.
After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Marines for 2 years.
He retired from his career as a longshoreman after 32 years.
George loved to play Cribbage, golf and enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, Lois in Ocean Shores and later in Cathedral City, Ca where they would spend their winters.
George and Lois later sold their Tacoma home and the California home in 2006 when George’s health began to decline. They moved into a retirement community where he spent the remainder of his life.
He enjoyed his time with his family which included his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.
In his early years he golfed a lot and took many vacations. He also loved tinkering on anything out in the garage. He especially loved to detail cars and would detail them for anyone he felt needed it.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Lois, his 4 children, Michael, Steve, Karen and Kim (Craig) Linxwiler, their mother, Janice Yelovich, his step children Daryl Gitt (Bonnie), Dennis Gitt (Kim) and Donna Gradin (John), 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister.
Visitation will be on Thursday July 16th from 12:00/PM (Noon) through 8:00/PM at the funeral home. Family and friends kindly invited.
Services will be held on Friday July 17th at 11:00 at Mountain View Funeral Home in the Aspen Chapel, followed by graveside and reception in the Willow Room.
