George S. Swanson's Obituary
George Snider Swanson, Sr., born May 1, 1948 was one of four children blessed to the union of Sider and Gertha Swanson in Choccolocco, Alabama.
On September 13, 1969, George and Linda Chapman were united in marriage. To this union two children, Nina and George, Jr., were born.
George Sr. completed his education in Detroit, Michigan. He served our country well in the United States Army and was honorably discharged.
George and his family moved to Tacoma, Washington shortly after the children were born. George loved collecting baseball cards and old coins. He could make one of the pizzas.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his daughter, Mrs. Nina Lavern Swanson-Johnson (Frederick) of Tacoma, Washington; his son, George S. Swanson, Jr. (Lindsey) of Spokane, Washington; one sister, Ms. Gloria Ann White of Tacoma, Washington; six grandchildren; a very close and loving nephew, Mr. Cornelius Nelson of Tacoma, Washington; aunt, Minister Margie Gay of Detroit, Michigan; close friends, Mr. Jeff Doepping of Puyallup, Washington and Ms. Angela Thomas of Lakewood, Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
