George Edward Paige's Obituary
George Edward Paige was born on June 22, 1942 in Century, Florida. He was the youngest son of George and Ruth Roberts Paige. George was baptized and gave his life to Christ at Pilgrim Lodge Baptist Church in Century, Florida. George attended Century High School and graduated at the tender age of 15 years old. After high school, he attended community college, and then went on to join the United States Army where he served for two years. George proudly worked for Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) and retired after over 40 years of service. After his retirement, George obtained employment at Hertz where he retired (once again) after over ten years of service. George married Mary Lou Durr in 1982. Mary lovingly and faithfully cared for (and spoiled) George until his very last day.
Although a man of a few words, George was genuinely kind to everyone he met. He loved sports of any kind and enjoyed spending his spare time at the Hollywood Park Race Track. George was most satisfied when he was sitting in a recliner in his man cave with a crossword puzzle.
George was proceeded in death by his father George Paige, eldest brother Joseph Carrington, and sister-in-law Betty Carrington. He is survived by his mother Ruth Paige; wife Mary Lou Paige; daughter Marlo Paige; bonus children Alfranda Durr (Robin), Kris Durr, Sr. (Laurie) and Michelle Grant (Allen); one brother Earl Carrington; one sister Yvonne Branch (Charles); one brother-in-law Dwane Sullivan; ten grandchildren; one great-grand son; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
