Brian Threlkeld
I’ve known George since I was a freshman at UPS in 1978. In recent decades, as I have participated in projects to fill in gaps in our knowledge of the history of Logger athletics, and to secure that record for ourselves, and for Loggers to come, I have found George an invaluable source of knowledge, of friendly and enthusiastic encouragement, and of unfailingly wise and candid counsel.
It is disheartening to know we can’t talk again, that I won’t have George’s warm welcome to look forward to when I visit campus. I am grateful for the good fortune of having known him, of having benefited from his friendship, and of having learned from him in the love we shared for our alma mater. As I extend my condolences to Nilmah and their family, I offer my thanks, as well, for their having shared George with so many of us, for so many years. We have profited far more than we can ever hope to repay.
Aloha, and Logger Up
Brian
