George Lee Gour's Obituary
George Lee Gour, born in Vermont on March 18, 1918, died in Lacey, WA, July 13, 2005. After high school George joined the Vermont National Guard. He was with the coast artillery on Fort Kamehameha when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He fought across the Elbe River in Germany and with the Second Infantry Division of Fort Lewis, WA in Korea. He earned the Infantry Badge with the star, the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star, and numerous campaign ribbons. He is survived by his wife Maria, daughter Christine Jameson, sons Michael and Andrew, grandchildren Lainey Jameson, Kendell Gour, Alicia Helne, and Tyler Miller; he is also survived by sisters Lucille and Bernice, brother Richard and numerous nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation, 6110 Executive Blvd, Rockville, ME 20852.
