George L. Cowlishaw 1939-2007George L. Cowlishaw passed away to be with his Lord, Sunday March 4th 2007. George was preceded in death by his mother Helen (Olive) his father, Leroy Cowlishaw and his sister, Barbara. George is survived by his sisters Delores Van Orman, Vennice Rameau, Irene Jones and Joyce Lovell along with numerous relatives.George was born in the Kirkland, Seattle area. As he grew into a young man, he joined the Army and served our country from 1957 to 1959. Through a family friend, Bill Griffin, George grew to appreciate gardening and became a gem enthusiast and rock hound. Together they worked as Master Gardeners for the LT Murray Estate in Lakewood Tacoma. Through the years, George donated much time to Church. He assisted in teaching Sunday school, but also helped maintain the Church grounds. He loved helping people. At Church services, George was always at the door with his infectious smile and an open hand. He would take elderly ladies back and forth to church in his immaculate red Chevy pickup truck. As the years went by, George moved to the Life Manor and it wasnÂ't too long before he became well known there for his friendly spirit. He very much enjoyed the Life Center Church. George was a generous, warm, friendly person who loved the Lord and expressed it vividly. He lived to help people. He was a tremendous prayer warrior. He would always start a prayer for his family, for the President, our soldiers, and then everybody that he could think of at the moment. At the Park Rose Care center he will be truly missed. He especially cherished the friendship and counsel of Phil Haislip and Colleen Bartlett. Do not stand on my grave and weep;I am not there. I do not sleep.I am a thousand winds that blow.I am the diamond glints on snow.I am the sunlight on ripened grain.I am the gentle autumn's rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush,I am the swift uplifting rushOf quiet birds in the circled flight.I am the soft stars that shine at night.Do not stand at my grave and cry;I am not there. I did not die.- AnonymousServices will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 10, 2007 in the Mountain View Celebration of Life Center.
