George H. Vandersluis' Obituary
George H. Vandersluis13 June 1918 to 15 November 2002George was born in San Diego, California and moved to Tacoma in 1920. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. George retired from the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1973, and has enjoyed his family, boating, fishing, dancing and more dancing! He was a member of the Elks, Eagles and VFW. George was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen, daughter Virginia and great grandson Cale. He leaves great memories behind with his daughter Georgia Cockle, son Steve Vandersluis, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and Val Jorgensen, his fiancée and dancing partner. A Celebration of GeorgeÂ's life will be held on Saturday November 23, 2002 at 1:00pm in the Mt. View Valley Chapel.
