George F. Poechhacker's Obituary
George F. Poechhacker, loving father to Catherine Sloan and Danial Poechhacker, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on April 7, 2005. He was born in Tacoma on August 21, 1939 to Ignaz and Mary Poechhacker.George retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Chief Warrant Officer and served 20 years in the Army National Guard as a watercraft operator for itÂ's ship. He also retired from Foss Maritime with 25 years as a tugboat 1st Mate. He was active in JobÂ's Daughter, Boy and Sea Scouts. Known to his friends at the Chiefton Restaurant as  Tugboat GeorgeÂ', he is remembered as a wonderful person who always laughed and who always thought of others before himself.His greatest joy and love was his 7 month old grandson, who he was so proud of.George is survived by his 2 children, his grandson Darrion Sloan, friend and former wife Celeste Poechhacker, two sisters Jeannette LeGrande and Mary Knee, many nieces and nephews, and his extended family, the Steffens.George will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A remembrance reception will be held from 4:00 Â- 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 11, 2005 at Mountain View Celebration of Life Center, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd., Tacoma, WA.Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home. 584-0252.
