George Sanford passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord with his loving son Ken by his side. He was welcomed into heaven by his wife Ruby and eldest son Larry. George was born in Ayr, Nebraska. He was one of six children. He is survived by his brother Dale of Hastings NE. Son Ken (MerriJane) Sanford of Tacoma and daughter Debra Strand of Everett; grandchildren, Amy, Hadley, Kenny Jr. (Kelly), Matthew, Austin and Antaeus; great grandchildren, Micah, Christopher, Kenny III and Cody. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. George retired from pipeline construction in 1993 after more than 40 years as an operating engineer. George's first love was his family, and his second was farming - raising animals and vegetables. He was a strong, silent, and steady man who gave his word with a handshake. Viewing will be at Mountain View Funeral Home Friday 1-9pm and Saturday. A celebration of George's life will be held this Saturday at 3:00 pm October 25, 2008 at Word of Life Church at 224 S. 166th St. Spanaway, Wa 98387 253-538-7345, In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Word of Life Youth Resources.
