Genevieve Helen Glundberg's Obituary
Genevieve Helen Keil Glundberg Passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18th in Gig Harbor. Genevieve was born in Tacoma on July 6, 1919. She was the youngest of five children born to Norwegian parents Josephine and Harold Keil. She resided in Tacoma most of her life. A Stadium High School graduate, she married her high school sweetheart, William O. Glundberg, who preceded her in death in 2000. Genevieve attended the University of Washington, and was a homemaker for her three children. She supported her husband with his work as the Director of the Metropolitan Park District in Tacoma. As a young woman, she loved to play tennis and she loved to sing. She performed in many operettas and on the radio as a member of the musical group the "3 K's". She was a PTA member and avid volunteer at Downing Elementary. Throughout her life she enjoyed garden club, and was active in the DE Chapter of P.E.O. She was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, and especially enjoyed singing in the choir. She studied Norwegian language and culture at PLU and had several wonderful trips to Norway. She is survived by brother Sidney Keil (Walnut Creek, CA), three children: Bruce and wife Jane (Gig Harbor), Martha (Mercer Island), and Kristen and husband Julian (Seattle); six grandchildren: Blake, Melissa, Alex, Emily, Faith and Tovi; four nieces, and two nephews. We will miss her with all of our hearts. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2008 at 2:00pm at the Mountain View Memorial Park in Lakewood (4100 Steilacoom Blvd.).
