Gary W. Yost
Gary was born May 19, 1935 to Samuel and Molly Yost in Tacoma, WA, and passed away from mesothelioma on May 2, 2011. He spent his entire life in Tacoma, with the exception of his time with the US Navy in San Diego, CA. In 1964 he married Janice Watland and raised three children whom he was most proud of. He graduated from Clover Park High School and worked as a Teamster, Asbestos Worker, and retired from IBM as a Customer Engineer. He was proud to be a first-generation descendant of Germans from Russia. Gary enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, ice skating, woodworking, and attending Tacoma Rainiers baseball games. Gary is survived by his wife Janice of 46 years, his three children, Sherri (John), Gary Jr. (Paula), and Lisa (Paul), nine grandchildren, John Jr., Megan, Jordan, and Morgan Tveter, Gary III and Sam Yost, Paul Jr., Seth, and Noah Remington, brother Gordon Yost, sister Janet Randall, and a large extended family. Viewing will be May 12, 2011 from 2-9 PM at Mountain View Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church, located at 4519 112th Street East in Tacoma. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
