Gary Allan Moore's Obituary
Gary Allan Moore, beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, and friend, passed away on October 8, 2024, in Lakewood, WA. He was born May 21, 1964, to Glen and Virginia Moore in Fairbanks, AK.
Gary graduated from Tok High School and honorably served in the US Army. After his military service, he began his career with Tanana Chiefs Conference in Tok, later advancing to Fairbanks, where he served as a Community Development Specialist and Planning Director. Embracing his entrepreneurial spirit, Gary went on to own a tour company and a consulting business. He also worked as a Police Officer in Northern Alaskan communities before moving to the Seattle area, where he took on a role as a security guard. In his spare time, he was a writer, an investigator, a bodybuilder, and an expert prankster. At the time of his passing, Gary lived in Lakewood, Washington, and owned a successful security company. He was dedicated to lifelong learning, having earned an associate’s degree and then his bachelor's degree while working full-time.
He is survived by his three children, Kyle, Dylan, and Cassie; his grandson, Ezekiel; his father, Glen, and stepmother, Joyce; his brother, Barry (Pearl), and sister, Alissa; uncles Dale Moore (Karen), Kenny Moore (Helen), Alfred Jonathan (Mildred), Larry Jonathan, Roger Jonathan, and Keith Jonathan; aunts Cheryl Bricker, Darlene Moore, Charlene Cleary, Alice Jonathan, and Dollie Jonathan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia, and brother, John, as well as his grandparents Emma and John Jonathan, Pauline and Ray Moore, and uncles Richard Moore and Brittan Jonathan.
Gary was a good man who took care of those he loved. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his sense of humor and work ethic.
Services will be held on Friday, October 25 @ 11:00 am in Lakewood, Washington at the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home- 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW. He will then be transported to his tribal community of Tanacross, Alaska and a service will be held Sunday, October 27 @ 1:00 pm in the Tanacross Tribal Hall with a traditional potlatch to follow.
