I only had the pleasure to meet Gary one time at an invite tour of his performance car collection. He treated us extremely well and spent a lot of time talking with my dad, who is similar in age. He created some very nice memories and was nice enough to share wit us not only the collection upstairs, but also the garage underneath. He was definitely a class act and we are very sorry for his family. We will always remember the nice time we had with him and how great he treated us.
When Gary and I were very young we were together quite often. Trips to Mount Rainier, Sunnyside beach, The Ocean. Anywhere the family went we hung out together led by older cousin Davey Lewis. When Gary was very young he couldn't pronounce his name Gary. All that came out was GA> So from that day forward Davey called him GA. Gary adored Davey Lewis who was killed in a car wreck in 1968. Gary suffered a lot of trauma in his life with dignity and grace. He was so loved and respected in the family. My Prayers to Bernie and his immediate family.

I have never had such a great friend like Gary. Helped me find many a car. Once I asked him to look at a car online and he called the guy, drove over to Spokane, bought the car and called me once he had it in his shop. He said if I didn't want it he would keep it in his collection. I got the car.
What a guy !!! I will forever miss him. All the best to Bernie

I was a salesman for an electrical company since 1981. One of my first Accounts was Ault electric. I called on Ault Electric every Monday. It was in 1989 Gary came into Ault and i got to meet Him. We hit it off almost immediately. it became a friendship of 35 years. We had lunch together almost every monday. When i met Gary, He had three or four cars. I was so fortunate to watch He and Bernie accumulate the Best of the Best cars in the country. In 1989, i asked Gary to look at a 1955 chevy and give his opinion. We went for a ride and afterwards he said "You can't get hurt on this one" I still have it. Gary and Bernie Took a three man business and turned it into the largest electrical company in Tacoma. A lot of people had great jobs at Ault and quite a few retired from there. My Bride and I were so fortunate to be able to vacation with Gary and Bernie , great times. One of Gary's quote's on a car that actually kicked ass when you ran it was" That car hauls the mail".For me, He and i talked almost every day. Still hard to wrap my mind around, He is gone . He is of course in Gods loving hands and we will see everybody again. Rest in Peace My Dear Friend .Denny and Debbie Lumsden
