Gary Hanson's Obituary
Gary A. Hanson
Gary A. Hanson was born in South Dakota on 7/4/30 and passed away in Tacoma WA on 4/17/12. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Josephine, three children; Gary (Lisa), Vickie (Owen), Sherrie (Ben); seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary moved to Tacoma as a teen and attended Stewart Jr. High and Lincoln High School. He served in the Navy for four years during the Korean War and upon his return home, met his future wife, Jo, at the USO club.
Gary was a tender heart. He loved his children and their happiness came first. When his grandkids came along, -Å"Papa- showed them the same kind of affection.
Gary worked in sales for Wible Electronics and later C&G Electronics. He was an avid sportsman, whether hunting for moose in Canada, duck hunting in eastern Washington, or fishing on American Lake. He also loved to go camping with his family. Gary was a sports enthusiast and had the talent of sitting with his ear perched to the radio while watching TV at the same time to see his Huskies play football (Go Sonny Sixkiller!).
Gary will be sorely missed. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heartwood Extended Care, for their care and respect for Gary the past few years.
Please join us for a celebration of Gary's life on April 20, 3:00 p.m., Mountain View Cemetery, Lakewood, Washington.
