Gary was born in Tacoma to Joseph & Anna (Pehl) Doubek where he enjoyed his childhood and later, life in his family. Downs Syndrome challenged he loved to go fishing with his dad, help with gardening and other chores at home. As a peace loving person he was fond of his special schooling in Salishan, his church, extended family, friends and neighbours. Predeceased by his father in 1960 and mother in 1994, Gary made Country Cottage in Graham his family and home since 1992. Gary leaves to mourn his passing his sister JoAnn (Harry) Kapeikis; nephew Paul (Louise) Kapeikis, Kaela, Danika, Liam; widowed niece Cheryl Hofman, Krista, Vanessa, Raelene; uncle John (Betty Jo) Pehl; aunts Lena Ostbye and Ellen Hess; and many cousins.
Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, Garden Chapel, Thursday, Jan. 31, 12:00 noon with Rev. Harry Kapeikis officiating. Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Gary may be made to Country Cottage, 12109 Kapowsin Hiway, Graham, WA 98338.
