Garrett "Gary" Pettingill's Obituary
Gary passed away on November 1st, 2020 in Gig Harbor WA at the age of 62. Born in Riverside, CA in 1958, his family moved to the Parkland area in 1965. Gary attended Washington High School lettering in Cross Country.
Gary started his business career purchasing his first home when he was 18 years old. He then went on to build his career buying and managing numerous properties in the Tacoma/University Place areas. He owned and operated G & G plumbing business for many years. Gary obtained his pilot license and enjoyed flying his plane to numerous destinations. One of Gary’s passions was singing Karaoke. He had a wonderful voice that everyone loved. A highlight was singing at his parents’ 50thwedding anniversary. Gary was kind and welcoming to every person he encountered. He had a true heart of gold for connecting with others. He was a jokester and his huge laugh will truly be missed.
Gary was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife Arlene Pettingill and his beloved sister Anne Marie Nell. He is survived by his parents Sharon and Jack Nell, his brother Tony Pettingill and his sister Dodie Kritner, one niece Shantra Moore and 4 nephews Chad Pettingill, Kyle Pettingill, Drew Egolf and Sean Egolf, survive him. There will be a celebration of life event hosted next spring to honor and remember Gary.
