Garnet F. Gary
Born October 27, 1914; left us to be with the Lord, February 6, 2009. Garnet was reared on a ranch in Primghar, Iowa, where she developed a love for horses. Her parents, OC and Della Anderson, instilled in her a good work ethic and the quest for knowledge. She graduated from Morning Side College in Sioux City, Iowa, and taught school for a short period of time before marrying Charles Gary in 1942. They made their home in Tacoma, Washington. Garnet was a teacher. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters, and served as PTA President for several terms. Garnet will be remembered by her children, Jan Gary from Puyallup, WA, Bob Gary from Tacoma, WA, and Linda Greenlee of Ennis, TX; grandchildren Lecia Brewer of Ennis, Jeff Gary of Tacoma, WA, Deanna Gary of Orting, WA, and Rob Gary of Tacoma, WA, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 7 from 4-6pm in Keever Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Tacoma, Washington on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 1:30pm. Family visitation will be on Tuesday from 6-8pm at Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma, Washington.
