Galen Vaughn Dillard Age 65, of Sumner, passed away peacefully March 9, 2014 with wife and children at his side. Born March 26, 1948 in Fresno, CA, Galen was a retired carpenter, devoted husband, and dedicated family man whose pure heart was a blessing to all.
Galen is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Dillard. He is also survived by his brothers Darryl and Stanley of Eugene, OR, his sons Gary and David Dillard of Washington, daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Sean Stewart of Kentucky, and 5 grandchildren, Emily, Sophie, Lily, Jessica, and Sydney. He was preceded in death by parents Evelyn and Earl and brother Dennis. Galen grew up in California and graduated from Petaluma High School. After graduation Galen moved to Washington and enrolled in the apprentice carpenter program at Bates Vocational School. He met the love of his life, Nancy, in Tacoma, and they were married in July 1969. Galen's legacy lives on in the beautiful craftsmanship homes he built with great skill all throughout the Pacific Northwest. His greatest pride and joy was his family, which he built with heart and soul.
