Fredrick Dean Callahan's Obituary
MSG (R) Fredrick Dean Callahan, age 88, formerly of Seneca Missouri, passed away February 8, 2021, due to Hypoxemic Respiratory Failure and Sever Chronic Obstruction Pulmonary Disease, surrounded in prayer with his family. Fred was a proud Veteran as a member of the US Army Special Forces (Green Beret). He was a Commo radio operator. He spent time in Vietnam and Laos. He was a active member of the SFA Chapter 16 and a member of the SOA. He was longtime member of the Church of Christ in the Puget Sound Region, Business owner of Callahan and Sons and foreman with Church Constructors. Fred and his wife were living with their Daughter and son-in-law Vonnie and Jesse Perez in Tacoma Washington before his passing.
Fred is proceeded in death by both parents, 13 siblings and 1 grandson. He is survived by his wife Linda of 60 years, daughters Rhonda Fitzpatrick (Jim), Vonnie Perez (Jesse), Shellie Guirsch (Paul) and son Morris Callahan. He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, David Buxton, Deana Buckley, Stephanie Fletcher, Erick Callahan, Heather Sloan, CJ Mayo and Kinsley Guirsch, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Fredrick was laid to rest February 22, 2021 at Tahoma National Cemetery at 18600 SE 240th St, Kent WA 98042 with full Military Honors conducted by the 1st Special Forces Group . Motorcycle escorts provided by The Special Forces Brotherhood and Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Groups.
Celebration of Life will be held at Lakeview Church of Christ in Tacoma Washington, February 27, 2021.
