Frederick L. Noble's Obituary
Frederick Lawrence Noble, born in Tacoma, Washington November 28, 1945. Fred lost his battle with cancer passing away peacefully at Tacoma General Hospital on April 30, 2018.
Fred attended Mount Tahoma High School. He enjoyed watching and playing many sports. He played slow-pitch into his 50’s and was an avid bowler, working early on as a pin setter for Pacific Lanes. He loved the outdoors and photography. As a teen he was a member of the Sea Scouts. As a young teen he found himself in the right spot on two occasions, once saving one of his brothers from drowning. Another occurrence was when a neighbor boys clothes had caught on fire. The boy was running in a panic. When Fred heard his screams he chased, caught and tackled the boy. Once on the ground he was able to put out the flames. His work career was primarily in construction working at building foundations then retiring out of the Laborers Union as a flagger.
Fred was preceded in death by his father Lyman Noble and his mother Clara Noble. He leaves behind one sister Rosemary Noble, four brothers, Robert, Richard, Gary and Harold, several nieces and nephews.
A debt of gratitude is owed to his landlord and a great deal as well to the owners, staff and patrons of The Park Avenue Tavern. They were with him from the onset of his battle. They made sure he made it to his appointments, made sure he ate when he had no appetite. They were his friends, his fans and his family. They were his support base. Fred will be missed by many. At this time there are no plans for a memorial.
