We called you, "Fast Freddy" lovingly. I will never forget your bluest of eyes that match the sky where I envision you watching all of us from now. We are so blessed that you and Shirl decided to move to Tacoma so we could actually get to know you. We had so much fun with the sports potlucks at Grandpa's and loved to gain your friendship and love as a friend, not only as an uncle. We loved your sports enthusiasm, especially Dennis, as he could always count on having access to the "tube" being on so he wouldn't miss anything when at family gatherings. I so know you are in a better place but we will miss you. I remember the times growing up listening to you boasting about all the kids and grands - you were a good dad and grandpa. Dennis said he appreciated your friendship, having spent hours of "dad" discussion about kids and grands, it brought him comfort in having someone to confide in and know you always understood our struggles. Just your laughs and your agreeing that sometimes life throws tough turns...it was just enough. We know you worry and hung on long because of your deep love for Shirl. We will take good care of her and I promise not to take her and get into too much trouble with her. As you know, just in the past, we will point to one another at being the "bad influence" :) - Take comfort that you did a great job at being a dad. I see you in Heidi's eyes, Marks smile, Blake's sport love and Rick's face too. It was a ride of a life time...when I look to the sky, I will imagine you looking over us all --- not so sure how those wings look on you with the RL sweater that I am sure you are wearing...but I am sure the pearly gates had the RL logo somewhere --- Love to you, Karen (Nicholson) and Dennis Miltenberger and kids xo
