Fred George Scott's Obituary
Fred G. Scott
Fred George Scott, beloved father and family patriarch, passed away on February 18, 2009 in Puyallup at the age of 98 years 11 months. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Marie, daughter Shirley, two brothers, and one sister. He is survived by one brother, Don, of Red Wing, Minnesota, daughter Marlene of Naches, and son Dan of Puyallup, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Fred led a very active, physical lifestyle and credited his longevity to Marie's healthy cooking and his physical work each day until shortly before his passing. He hunted, fished, cut and split his own firewood, including chainsaw use well into his 97th year. His many years of team bowling resulted in several league championships, including one earned in his final season in 2008. A celebration of Fred's life and, at his request, the lives of his wife Marie and daughter Shirley, will be held Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Valley Chapel, Mountain View Funeral Home, Tacoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the charity of the donor's choice in Fred's name.
