Frank P. WernerFrank P. Werner, 83, of Lakewood, passed away on Nov. 29, 2002. Frank was born May 11, 1919, on the family homestead south of Napoleon, ND to John and Mary Meier Werner. He was the youngest of ten children. Frank served for the U.S. Army in the Philippines during WWII where he earned the Purple Heart. He married Ann Marie Black on Nov. 18, 1942. They moved their family of eight children to Lakewood in 1968. He retired from post engineers at Fort Lewis in 1980. Frank was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church, life member of the Knights of Columbus and Disabled American Veterans.His family, neighbors, friends, and church relied upon his ingenuity and skills with carpentry and his ability to fix most anything. Frank was a man with amazing energy and talent and a very loving heart.Frank is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Marie of Lakewood; Paul and Marilyn Werner, Boise, ID; Lucy Werner, Olympia; Karin and Eric Richardson, Newcastle, CA; Jim and Patsy Werner, Grapeview; Gary Werner, Lakewood; Michael Werner, Lakewood; Mary Jane and Joel Patnode, Tacoma; Debra and Don Ohnstad, Tacoma; and 14 grandchildren.A rosary will be held on Dec. 4th at 7:30 pm at St. Frances Cabrini Church and a mass on Dec 5th at 10 am at St. Frances Cabrini Church.
