Frank J. Gavaldon's Obituary
Our wonderful Frank Joseph died on May 4, 2010 at the young age of 22. Whether you referred to him as Frank J., Bubba Jones, or Little Man, he always had that big smile and a hug for you. Frank loved the outdoors, exploring on the beach, and as a child loved climbing trees and finding bugs. He liked sushi, Dad's BBQ ribs, and anything Gen cooked or baked. He was very proud of his Hispanic heritage, and loved participating in the Latino Heritage Festival. He believed strongly and always stood up for the issues of civil rights. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was very creative, and loved to paint and write. Above all, Frank was kind and had a good heart.
He is survived by his parents Frank and Genal Gavaldon, sister Nicole Gavaldon Soto, a niece and two nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Frank Joseph, we will love you and remember you forever.
A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 12th.
Frank Joseph Gavaldon He was known as FRANKIE FRESH and passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2010 at his home in Tacoma, Wa. He was 22 years old and a wonderful man, full of life, love and gentle caring for his family and friends. He was a peace loving man and very well versed in politics and world events. He is survived by his parents: Frank and Genal Gavaldon and Terri LaFarge and Tom Strand. He also leaves behind 2 sisters: Nicole Gavaldon-Soto and her 3 small children, Jill Westermark, and his brothers Kevin Westermark and Darrell LaFarge. In addition, his grandmother Inger Johansen and his soul mate Benjamin J. Wolk. He was well loved and respected and had the most pleasant personality , always able to converse with young and old and treated everyone kindly. He loved art and was an accomplished painter. He could "free hand" the most beautiful pictures and abstract drawings. He loved his huge entourage of friends and shared many wonderful camping trips and expeditions. We will forever miss him and cherish him. A shining light burned out too quickly. To all the parents out there (young and old) whom have lost a child, our hearts grieve for you. Remember to "shower the people you love with love" everyday and always. Frank wrote this as his goal in life: To live consciously and courageously. To resonate with love and compassion. To awaken the great spirits in others. To leave this world in peace. There will be a Memorial service for the public on Tuesday May 11th at 1 p.m. in the Valley Chapel at Mt. View Funeral Home on Steilacoom Boulevard.
