Frank Conner's Obituary
SFC Frank Conner (RET) Age 77, died June 16 at his home in Tacoma, WA. Frank was born Sept. 5, 1932 in Andalusia, AL to the late Cora and Joe Conner. He was the youngest of three children. He served 24 years in the US Army as a Drill Sergeant and Acting First Sergeant. He served 4 overseas tours including Alaska, Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. He retired from Fort Lewis in 1976 with numerous awards and commendations. After his discharge, Frank was employed by St. Regis until they closed, and then retired from the Tacoma School District in 1989. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the VFW. He spent most of his retirement time fishing, working in his garden, and playing with his great-grandchildren. He will be missed. Frank is survived by his sister Gloria, brother Joe, daughters Kim (Rudy), Terri (Rachel), Tristin (Joe) and Sandy; grandchildren Corri, Liz, Jessica (Roni), JT, and Sierra; great-grandchildren Alexandria and Connerboy, and ex-wife and friend Ann. A service will be held in his memory on Monday July 5th, 2010 at 3pm in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA. A special thank you to SPC Stewart and SPC Melendez for all their work ensuring Frank's Army uniform was up to his standards for the family viewing. See you later Dad.
