Frank Anthony Filocomo's Obituary
Frank Anthony Filocomo, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on October 30th 2OO6; Born July 5th 1919 in Brooklyn, New York he was the fifth of six children. From the Â"Greatest Generation,Â" Frank served his country in WWII and the Korean War as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force. While serving in England he met the love of his life Gladys, whom he would spend the rest of his life with. Together they raised two wonderful daughters, Pat and Annamarie.During his military career Frank discovered the beauty of the Northwest and some wonderful, lifelong friends. Upon his retirement after twenty plus years of service, Frank moved his family across the country to Tacoma. He began a career at St. Regis paper-company where he worked for fifteen years as the purchasing and supply manager.His faith in Jesus was his guiding light and those who came to know him were forever changed by his example. Always a warm handshake and a great smile greeted a stranger to the Life Center Assembly of God Church where Frank and his family attended for over forty years. Frank held many leadership positions in the church but his devotion to Life Christian Academy led him to spend hours of volunteer time helping the school children cross the street safely.Family meant the most to Frank, whether it was a holiday function, or a getaway to Lake Chelan, FrankÂ's family was the closest to his heart. He was the perfect Grampa!Frank is survived by his wife Gladys, who is in the care of the Tacoma Lutheran Home, his daughters Pat Rogers and Annamarie Ausnes; Grandchildren David & Mark Stephens, Scott & Amy Ausnes; Great Grandchildren David Jr., Cassondra, Kirsten & Christopher Stephens and Ava Ausnes.Your unconditional love touched our hearts and your faith showed us the way, we are forever eternally grateful.
