Francis M. Glassy's Obituary
Frances May Glassy
Born May 4th, 1913 in Lisbon, North Dakota, Francis Glassy passed away peacefully in her home in Tacoma, WA. on Saturday, November 5th, 2011, at 98 years of age. The cherished and loved matriarch of her family, Frances will be remembered for her kind, gentle and encouraging spirit.
Frances, known as GG to her grandchildren, loved to cook and bake and was a gracious hostess. This made her home a favorite of everyone in the family and each generation counts their time at GG's house as their highlight.
Born into a big and loving family, she had a deep love for her brothers and sisters. She passed on her love to her daughters, and in turn they to their children. Although Frances had difficulties and challenges in her life, she always carried herself with a quiet strength and was never one to complain. Instead, she was loving and gracious, quick with a laugh and a smile. Her faith in Jesus was a source of strength and she is with her Savior now in heaven.
Frances left a legacy of two loving daughters, Barbara Curry (Stuart) and Sharon Glassy. She had 6 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Roy Hanson of Spanaway and Lyle Hanson of Arizona.
A memorial service will be held Monday November 14th at 12pm at Life Center church in Tacoma Wa.
Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
