Francis Leroy Dietrich's Obituary
Francis Leroy Dietrich, 83, of Puyallup passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on may 20, 2015.
Francis was born on October 1, 1931 in Mandan, North Dakota to LeRoy and Emma Dietrich where they resided until 1944 when the family relocated to Tacoma, Washington.
Francis was the fourth of eight children. He attended Holy Rosary, Stewart junior High School and Lincoln High School where he graduated in 1949.
After high school Francis enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served on the USS Pittsburgh during the Korean War from April 1951 to April 1955.
After being honorably discharged Fran went to work at the Western Lumber Company, then Woodlam, Inc. until 1982 when he started his own company Nothwest Wood Craft until his retirement in 2000. There he built laminated wood beams that would be used at the Puyallup High School pool and at the Tacoma Dome. After his reitrement he worked part-time at the Puyallup fair selling scones.
He married the love of his life Rosetta on June 15, 1957. Together they raised 5 beautiful children Tina, Lori, Mike, Shane, and Renee.
Fran enjoyed camping with his family, fishing, football, baseball, bowling, and helping with his grand children. He also enjoyed country music to include Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. Known for his mustache, everybody enjoyed his company.
Fran is survived by his wife Rosetta of 57 years, daughters Tina (Vini), Lori, Renee (Robb) Stack, sons Michael, Shane (Karen), sisters Vie (Dick), Kay (Don), MaryAnn, Diane (Dave), his brother Gene (Noreen) and sister-in-law Dee. Fran also leaves behind nine grand-children and two great grand-children along with numerous friends and family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Regency of Puyallup for the care they provided to Fran.
Fran will be sorely by all he touched.
