Forrest Ward Grubb
He was born in Oakland, California on June 5, 1925, and passed away peacefully on December 9th, 2008. He joined the Navy after high school and studied to get a degree in geology. His unit was stationed in Guam and they performed long range rescue missions to find pilots that had been shot down. For most of these missions he was the belly gunner on the bomber. He said that it was the scariest and most rewarding thing he had ever experienced. After 4 years he decided against furthering his career in the military and instead continued his education. He was accepted to the Colorado school of Mines, and graduated one of the top in his class with a bachelor's degree in Geology. Later, he recieved is Masters in Engineering from WSU. He worked in the area of nuclear energy for most of his life, including Calvert Cliffs,HL&P, Palo Verde & Westinghouse Hanford.
He is survived by a son, two daughters, 3 adopted daughters, and several grandchildren. Forrest was a hard worker and dedicated and loving father and grandfather. We love you papa and we will miss you very much.
Services will be held in the Celebration of Life Center in the Oak Room On December 19, 2008 from 2pm -" 5pm.
