Floyd was a good man. He enjoyed helping others, was respectful of others points of view and beliefs, and had a great personality and sense of humor.
I first met Floyd while in the US Army stationed in Korea in 1969. He proved to be a good leader and friend who was not afraid to get in and help with the work he assigned to others. Later in life, after he retired from the Army, he worked as a painter at the same company as me. He learned the job, was dedicated to it, and always did his best.
He enjoyed driving, especially trucks. He once told me of his first real job - a delivery truck driver at the age of 13 in the Dallas, TX area during the early days of WW2. In retired life he loved driving his motor home on trips and later his truck while pulling his camping trailer to the ocean to get clams or go fishing while enjoying the friendship of others in the group making the trip.
He volunteered time for the needs of his church and disabled veterans who needed a lift to an appointment, to get medicine or go shopping.
I feel blessed to have known Floyd Lee Woolverton for over 54 years.
