Floyd Wayne Currie's Obituary
SMSGT Ret. Floyd Wayne Currie passed away on November 16, 2012. He was born on August 25, 1944 in Statesboro, Georgia to Essie May and Luther Currie. Wayne was an alumnus of The Bethesda Home for Boys in Savannah, Georgia, and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1962. Wayne met Geraldine Bartles in Florida and they married in 1970. They settled in Graham, Washington, where Wayne served as a flight engineer for the 36th TAS, and retired in 1989. He followed his passion for aviation to Boeing for 10 years until he retired. Wayne volunteered for the McChord Air Museum and was a life-long member of the NRA. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother James, and sister Anne. He is survived by wife Gerri, son William (Chris), daughter Janet, brothers Bill (Marlene) and Sam (Sandy), four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Burial at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, WA at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov 23, 2012. Memorial service held at Mountain Highway Baptist Church, 245th and Mountain Highway, Spanaway, at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov 23. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society , American Heart Association , or USO.
