Florence Violet DowlingFlorence Dowling, a lifelong resident of Tacoma, passed away October 13, 2006. She was born July 5, 1924 the only child to Florence Lydia and Edward Shute. Mom was a homemaker all of her life, and was devoted to her family. She loved nature, especially the mountains, Puget Sound and being in her yard gardening, picking wild berries and baking. She looked forward to being with her family, shopping, eating out, having friends over for tea and goodies and visits. She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years Hugh Dowling in 1997. She is survived by her daughters Rebecca Shields (John) and Rhonda Wilson (Michael), four grandchildren Adessa Shields, Adawnya Shields, Aaron Shields and Maxwell Wilson, three great-grandchildren James Scott, Emily Brown, and Kylie Brown.Viewing will be 1-9pm Thursday October 19, 2006 at Mountain View Funeral Home.Funeral Services will be 2:00pm October 20, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel.
