Florence "Niki" Saxton's Obituary
Niki peacefully passed away March 15, 2013. She was born November 10, 1925, in Berkley, CA, to Joseph and Alvina (Burns) Anzalone. After marrying William Wesley (Wes) Saxton they moved to Lakewood, WA in 1947. She is survived by her husband Wes of 67 years, and her three sons William L. Saxton (Jan), Robert Wesley Saxton (Beverly) and Gregory James Saxton (Debie).
Niki enjoyed time spent with her eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Once asked what was her favorite time she replied that it was watching her boys develop into fine young men in whom "I am so proud." She was their greatest fan. Her family was her priority in which she served as a virtuous and righteous wife, mother and grandmother. After ensuring her husband's and sons' post high school educations she secured one for herself. She retired from Clover Park School District in 1983. Niki enjoyed organizing the family reunions, being out of doors and her membership in several garden clubs. In their later years, she and Wes frequently wintered in Arizona.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to her care givers at Family First Adult Family Home, Artondale, of Gig Harbor, for their compassion, respect, and the quality of life she experienced. A memorial service will be held in her honor in late May, at Mt. View Cemetery, Lakewood, WA.
