It is with sadness, yet wonderful memories, when I read of "Grandma Harper's" death. I was a tutor at Clover Park Voc School (then) when Mrs. Harper brought in her dear granddaughter Becky for enrollment. Mrs. Harper brought Becky, who is hearing impaired, to make sure she got the training she needed to become self-sufficient and part of the area Work Force. According to Mrs. Harper, Becky could do anything she wanted, and she (the loving Grandma) was there to make sure we at Clover Park helped Becky reach her potential. If we had issues or questions, Grandma Harper was the person we were to call. Now, probably 30+ years later, Becky has done many things, including be a great mom, wife, employee, and friend. Everyone should be so fortunate to have that kind of advocate when they are trying out their wings for the first time. I will always remember Mrs. Harper.
