Florence Sekstrom Erb, born November 26, 1914 in Calgary AB to Swedish immigrant, John and Alma Sekstrom; died September 27, 2014. Predeceased by husband, Cy, infant son Stephen Michael, sister Myrna Engh, brother Howard Sekstrom.
Mourned by son Douglas, wife Better, daughter Karen, husband Dee, grandchildren Susan, Steve and Sue, Leigh and Jay, Aaron and Janna, 5 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, 16 loving nieces and nephews, sister in law June Sekstrom.
Florence had many pursuits. She with husband Cy ran Cy’s Ice Creamery. She worked for the Tacoma Public Library and Wentworth Jewelers and the photographic center at the Puyallup Fair. In retirement, Florence lived with Cy in Gig Harbor, where she gardened, volunteered and enjoyed a love-filled life.
Florence actively participated in life until near the day of her death, giving council from her hospital bed to her loving grandchildren. Florence was so present in our lives. She was a strong spiritual force. We will keep her in our hearts and try to live by the examples she set. We are so pleased to have had the pleasure of her company.
