Ferdinand E Sobota Jr.
December 29, 1937 ~ April 22, 2025
Ferd passed away in his sleep at Home after a short battle with Cancer. He was born December 29th, 1937 at Submarine Base, Coco Solo Panama Canal Zone to Ferdinand E Sobota, Sr. and Bertha C Sobota. He was a 1955 graduate of Fife High School and went to work for Boeing for a short time before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in Oct 1957. He spent most of his Naval career riding nuclear submarines. He Retired in 1983 as an E-9 Master Chief Petty Officer from the Navy after 26 years of service. Ferd completed 13 Polaris Ballistic Missile Patrols, and has a Navy Achievement Medal. Ferd went on to work with General Dynamics where he retired in 1998.
Ferd and Audrey were married on February 14, 1959 at Fife, Washington.
After retirement Ferd and Audrey traveled the USA and Canada in their Motor Coach.
Ferd loved Skiing, making wine, playing Pickleball, teaching pickleball, and walking his puppies.
Ferd is preceded in death by his two brothers Robert W Sobota and Richard L Sobota and sister Carol L Newcomer. Ferd is survived by his wife Audrey Sobota and three children Cheryl Atkins, Darryl Sobota (Jodi), and Darryn Sobota (Brook). Ferd is also survived by his three Grandchildren Tyler Sobota, John Edenbo, and Carolyn Edenbo.
